Terms of Use

Last updated: October 22, 2026 · Terms version 2026-10-22

The short version (plain English)

1. Who we are and what we do

Card Inertia is operated by Jacobson Collectibles LLC, a Massachusetts limited liability company ("Card Inertia", "we", "us"). It is an online meeting place where collectors find partners for card-for-card trades of PSA-graded cards held in the PSA Vault. We are not a party to any trade between members. We never take possession of, hold, or control any card, funds or other property; we are not a broker, dealer, auctioneer, agent, escrow service or insurer; and we do not verify, authenticate, appraise, guarantee, insure or escrow any card, cert number, member or trade.

2. Agreeing to these terms

You accept these terms by ticking "I agree to the Terms" when you sign up, and again each time you make or accept a trade offer. We record the terms version, date and time, IP address and the action (sign-up, offer or accept) as evidence of your agreement. If we change these terms materially, we'll update the version and ask you to agree again before your next trade.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. One account per person: you may hold only one Card Inertia account, and you must have your own PSA account in good standing. You confirm both at sign-up. You may only list or offer cards that you own outright, have the right to trade, and that are held in your own PSA account.

4. Trade only — no sales

Card Inertia is for trades only. You may not buy, sell, price, or request or offer cash or any other payment through the site or as part of a trade arranged here. Any estimated value you enter is your own self-declared figure, used privately only to check which membership tier a trade fits; it is never displayed publicly and is not an appraisal.

5. PSA and Vault-to-Vault transfers

Transfers are performed by you on PSA's platform under PSA's Vault Terms and Vault Transfer Authorization Terms (https://app.collectors.com/vaulttransferauthorizationterms). PSA may hold, decline, or reverse transfers or change fees. Card Inertia is not a party to transfers. Transfers are performed by PSA (Collectors Universe, Inc.) under PSA's own terms, fees and processes, which you must accept separately with PSA. We are not affiliated with PSA and are not responsible for PSA's systems, delays, errors, fees, custody or decisions. Members trade at their own risk.

6. Listing cards: PSA cert numbers

Every card you list or offer must already be in your own PSA Vault and must be identified by its PSA certification number, shown publicly with a "Verify on PSA" link. You confirm each card is in your PSA Vault and that you can send it by Vault-to-Vault transfer. A cert number can be on only one active listing; conflicting listings across accounts are flagged for admin review. Verifying the card, grade and cert on PSA is your responsibility.

7. New-trader limits

Until a member has completed 3 trades on Card Inertia, they may have only one open trade at a time and may trade only up to $250 of self-declared estimated card value per side. After 3 completed trades, the normal tier limit applies (free trading: under $1,000 per side; High Rollers Club: $1,000 and up, no cap). We may change these limits.

8. Completing trades, send-first rule and the Trusted Trader score

When an offer is accepted, the trade page shows who sends first and the deadlines. If the two members' trust scores differ, the member with the lower score must start their PSA Vault-to-Vault transfer and mark it "sent" first; the other member then has 48 hours to send theirs. If the scores are equal, both send within the same 48-hour window. Both members must mark "I sent my transfer" and "I received the card" within 7 days. If a member misses their send deadline, the other member may file a failed-trade report. The Trusted Trader score (New Trader, Trusted, Elite) reflects completed trades, account age, email verification and two-factor status. It is a guide only, not a guarantee, endorsement or background check.

9. Failed-trade reports and admin review

Either member may report a failed trade (for example, the other side never sent their transfer or sent the wrong card). A report puts the trade in "disputed" status and pauses the reported member from starting new trades. The reported member is notified by email and may respond within 3 days. An administrator reviews every report before any ban. Reports are not automatically treated as true.

10. Termination, suspension and the one-strike policy

We may suspend, restrict or terminate any account, listing or offer at any time, at our sole discretion, with or without notice. One confirmed failed trade and you are out: if an administrator confirms a member failed to complete their side of a trade, the account is permanently disabled, all sessions are signed out, open listings and offers are removed, and the member's normalized email address is added to a blocklist so it cannot be used to re-register. Former members appear publicly only as "No longer a member". Our decision is final.

11. Member conduct

You agree not to:

12. Records, privacy and cooperation

We keep trade, report and agreement records. If we receive a credible report of theft or fraud, we may share relevant records (such as account details, cert numbers, trade history and messages) with PSA and with law enforcement. See our Privacy Policy.

13. Account security

You must verify your email before trading. High Rollers Club members must use two-factor authentication (an authenticator app); it is strongly encouraged for everyone. Keep your password and backup codes private. You are responsible for activity on your account.

14. Memberships

Free accounts may trade cards under $1,000 of self-declared estimated value per side at no charge. Trades of $1,000 or more per side require High Rollers Club membership, which is by application; its fees, billing, renewal, cancellation and refund terms will be posted before any payment is collected. The former Inertia Pro tier is no longer offered; any member who previously held Inertia Pro keeps their access. We may introduce paid memberships or features in the future and will give notice and update these Terms before charging for anything that is currently free.

14a. Advertising

Card Inertia may show clearly labeled advertising, sponsored placements and affiliate links. Advertisers and sponsors are not endorsed by us unless stated, are not parties to any trade, and their offers are governed by their own terms. Some links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. Ads never change how listings are ranked.

15. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE, ITS CONTENT (INCLUDING GUIDES, MARKET NOTES, TRUST SCORES AND LISTINGS) AND ALL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY MEMBER WILL COMPLETE A TRADE, THAT ANY CARD OR CERT IS GENUINE OR AS DESCRIBED, OR THAT THE SITE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR AVAILABLE.

16. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, CARD INERTIA, JACOBSON COLLECTIBLES LLC AND ITS OWNERS, MEMBERS, OFFICERS AND AGENTS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF CARDS, VALUE, DATA, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM TRADES, MEMBER CONDUCT, PSA, OR YOUR USE OF THE SITE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IS LIMITED TO THE MEMBERSHIP FEES YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE (WHICH IS $0 IF YOU PAID NOTHING).

17. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Card Inertia, Jacobson Collectibles LLC and its owners, members, officers and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your trades, listings or offers, your conduct, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

18. Disputes: binding individual arbitration and class-action waiver

Any dispute between you and us arising from these terms or the site will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, seated in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. You and we waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class, collective or representative action. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies. Disputes between members are between those members; we do not mediate, refund, reverse or compensate.

19. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the Federal Arbitration Act.

20. Changes and general

We may update these terms; the version and "Last updated" date will change, and you will be asked to agree again before your next trade. If any part is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the site.
